Ilan, 11 years old, has been seen in family therapy because of his long term aggressive behavior at home and for his angry feelings towards his father, which upset everybody. Presenting himself as a child expert, Maurizio Andolfi starts to engage the three boys by exploring family history through the genogram. In particular, he asks the children information about the parents’ siblings relationship. Very soon the traumatic experiences on both sides of the family are disclosed with the description of the places where the grandparents were hidden during WWII, as well as the family’s desperation and resilience afterwards. Starting from Ilan’s anger, a journey into the anger in both families of origin is proposed. Everybody is invited to draw a picture of the anger and of the sadness.
