This session, recorded in 2013 and edited by the Accademia Multimedia Library, features Master Therapist Maurizio Andolfi conducting a live therapy session with a family, composed by a Dutch mother and her fifteen years old son with the presence of her own parents. Mother brought Jack to consultation because he is withdrawn, does not have friends and spends long hours alone in his room playing videogames. Parents have been divorced since four years and Jack lives with mum and has no contact with his father after their separation, because “he does not want to upset his mother”. Mother’s parents split too when she was thirteen years old and she grew up mostly with her own mother. CLOSED DOORS is a demonstration of the Multigenerational Family Therapy Model allowing Jack to “open doors” to reach out to his father and mother to overcome her sense of loneliness.
