This session, recorded in 2014 and edited by the Accademia Multimedia Library, features Master Therapist Maurizio Andolfi conducting a live therapy session with the Smith family. Casey and Elsa are a middle age couple who separated three years ago. They are still very angry to each other and children are caught in the middle of their dispute. Daughter Jana is sixteen and younger son Tim is thirteen years old. They both live with mum, who has a new boyfriend. Father lives alone, has a bad temper and occasionally has been physical abusive with Jana. Her problems are the reason for parents’ present worries. Jana uses drugs, tried to cut her wrists and has been labelled as ADHD. A ”LONG TIME AGO” FAMILY is a demonstration of how the Multigenerational Family Therapy Model can help children to move out from the middle of an angry marital separation and Jana to transform her symptoms in family resources.
